And just in the spirit of bashing you like the other internet Wardens.

If your hunt was that quick you must have shot it off the Roost with a rifle and scope  Just playing your slaying em good!

Good looking bird. IF he was that eager, should have let him get closer (haha) Congrats.

No, this turkey was taken on another piece of property.

I wouldn't be surprised if that boss turkey has 2" hooks as old and smart as he is. He actually gobbled at us from off in the distance when we killed the turkeys on the previous kill thread.

I've got a wise old devil that has been taunting me since Friday on public land... I am not kidding when I say I have lost sleep over him. He is a ghost. It's killing me. I have made it my mission to get him. He will gobble, but he will not come to anything. Things go to him. Looks like I'm gonna have to low crawl about 200 yards through the swamp to get on him.

Good luck. I wonder if you could set up where he likes to go, if you know his general pattern. Be there waiting on him!

Gonna try it. We'll see tomorrow! Gonna go in light and try to set up close, then if that fails, try to crawl up on him.

It's awesome when they pitch right off the limb to you like that, but at the same time it makes you wish he would have teased you just a little. Nice bird!!!!

Mornings like this one that frustrate you to no end make you really appreciate the all too easy hunts from earlier in the season. :x

I have a bird that I am about to give up on. He roosts in the same spot and will not budge from it. There is a thick ravine behind him and thinned mature pines all around him. He has it just how he wants it and I have yet to crack the code on him.

My last attempt will probably be a 4:45 arrival with a ninja approach and a turkey fan.

Those are the ones that will have a nice set of hooks on em. That one I killed with inch and a halfs this year was the same way. Been usin the same spot for 3 or 4 years. I'd hunt him a while and give up each year, finally a little persistence paid off.

I went in and he wasn't there. Keep in mind, public land... There were foot prints in the mud somewhat close by (250 yards from his roost). I don't know if they bumped him, or shot him. I didn't see any signs of him being shot, but that doesn't mean much. I haven't been back since Monday (stupid job), but will be going over there again before season ends. He is an older bird, at least 4, which I consider old for public land. He's got it figured out for sure.
