I put right at 200 pellets in the 10 ring at 40 with mag blends, even more than that with longbeard Winchester loads. Out of a 3" 11-87 with 26" barrel and a Redhead Blackout choke by Carlson's.

260 pellets + in a 10 ring at 40 yards every time with Hevi #6's or Mag blends and Indian creek .665 Constriction, and a SBE.

I wish I would have seen this sooner. I have had the same problem as the original poster. I bought a .665 Indian Creek choke for my Benelli Nova 12 ga and shot Nitros, Hevi Mags, and several others non-blended #6's. The Nitros of course patterned great. Over 200 pellets in a 10" circle at 40yds. The Hevi Mag blends were horrible. Barely 15 pellets on the target and most hit the ground before the target. I have no clue why that is the only shell that doesn't work out of that combo. I e-mailed indian creek and they told me the Hevi magblends should shoot great with my set up.

I don't think it matters what you're shooting at 10 steps, and it certainly doesn't tell you anything about your pattern. I think I would just swing the butt of my gun at his head that close.

 Very true! I think it's actually easier to MISS at 10 steps!

Thats why Im so good lol. I patterned some double xx win loads, that started out low. So took out my rio dove loads and found out I was low with the Indian creek choke at 20. When I shot 60 the load hit the ground 5-10yds in front. I took off my hi-viz magnetic sight and used the factory benelli bead and got the pattern back to dead center. I then got great patterns with the double xx. Ive read nothing but awesome reviews with the magblends and same gun/choke setup. Im taking the chance of the mags patterning great at 40yds. I cant justify patterning those shells at 6-7 bucks a pop. Once I miss, I may suck it up and check the pattern. Only takes one pellet to kill em.

Buddy and I just went to get his dad a birthday present at Dicks sporting goods. Mag Blends on the shelf for $27.99 I feel robbed by Gander Mtn...

Dicks always has a good price on the MBs.

The 3.5s 2 1/4oz shells are lethal out of my 870 with a Jellyhead choke. This is all I am shooting at the stutters these days. Good stuff!

I patterned some #6 longbeards out of my Nova with an indian creek choke and they did great. Around 170 pellets in a 10" circle at 40yds. My Nitro's are still the best. Looks like I will be shooting $10/shell!

the Mag Blends are superior to any shell that I have put through my
Benelli and it is not even close

Hey! Since it was brought back up... I found 6 boxes of Mag Blend 3.5"s at a place up here last season that were $20.16/box. Bought all they had. That was a good day...

I will put another plug in for the Magnum BLends. I shoot them out of
my Benelli and absolutely love them. They are deadly accurate and
hit very hard
