Hunted some flooded timber around Demopolis Saturday morning, and my buddy killed his first wood duck, only his second duck ever, and what'dya know it was banded! I was livid, been hunting for a few years and still haven't snagged one. Just the luck of the draw I guess. Turns out the duck was banded this past summer just one county over in Greene County. Hoping my first band comes soon.

Don't be livid. Duck Gods frown on that! Hard enough to kill one with them on your side.

 I'll keep that in mind! Maybe that's why my season has been so slow. The anger subsided pretty quickly though when I saw how excited he was, the smile on his face says it all. As far as I'm concerned, the second best thing to killing a duck is settin someone new up to kill one and gettin to share their excitement
